Where to Find Dresses with Pockets: An Ongoing List

I want pockets in my dresses. This is my growing list of places to look, starting with Israeli designers and brands, with notes on the dresses I’ve bought and the shops I’ve tried.

As part of my rule about “only putting things in my wardrobe that I know I’ll actually wear,” I have another rule: I don’t buy a dress or skirt unless it has pockets, and I don’t buy trousers unless the pockets are deep.

That doesn’t make me a difficult shopper. It just keeps more of my spare money with me.

Here’s a list of brands and shops where dresses and skirts come with pockets as standard, or where they’re easy to find! And of course, each shop has things besides pockets.

This list isn’t sponsored. I haven’t received any perks for featuring any of these brands. It’s based on my experience and my friends’ experience. If you have a recommendation, or know a brand whose dresses and skirts have pockets, write to me. Send me a website link or a recommendation based on your own experience.

Israeli brands

Israeli designers are expensive. Things cost a lot here, and the collections are small. All true. But if you can afford it, here’s what I recommend:

Zikger (זיקגר)

I like her work not just because of the pockets, but also because she’s big on sustainability. That’s no small thing in the world of secondhand clothing, despite all the greenwashing by fast fashion companies. Her prints are anything but understated. The fabrics are cotton or viscose, rather than synthetic fabrics. And they’re rescued fabrics: factory leftovers.

I bought her Kyoto dress in the “Japanese Waves” print. I had to have it shortened a little (it’s a maxi dress; I’m 1.58 m tall), but it’s my favorite summer dress. The clothes survive the wash. They do crease a little. That doesn’t bother me.

What you’ll find: prints, larger sizes, pockets. Zikger’s website.

Yael Lindenbaum (יעל לינדנבאום)

I found her website because I was searching for palazzo trousers in Hebrew, and nobody else seemed to call them that. They’re wide-legged fabric trousers with a skirt-like look. And yes, they have pockets. I was looking for a winter dress in a warm fabric for Jerusalem’s cold weather, something I could wear with a vest underneath without fussing, and that wasn’t see-through or revealing. That sorted it. She has lighter fabrics too.

I didn’t order online. I went to the studio and came away with a dress (with deep pockets, of course) and palazzo trousers (in the photo of me in the mirror; on the website they’re called “דגם קוריאני,” the Korean style). They’re one-size. I’m usually a size 42 in trousers, using the sizing common in Israel, and there’s room for women bigger than me too. I hadn’t planned to buy them, but they’re comfortable and get loads of compliments. What more do you need? And if you like tote bags, she has the prettiest ones in the world.

The trousers wash well, but do wash them gently. She recommends 30°C; we washed them at 40°C. I haven’t washed the dress yet.

What you’ll find: a calmer color palette, larger sizes, pockets. Yael Lindenbaum’s website.

Ulla (אולה)

I’d heard about Ulla for years. I hadn’t tried the clothes, but I’d had recommendations. Then one day, a guest at my son’s pidyon haben (a Jewish ceremony for a firstborn son) turned up in one of her dresses. My mother fell in love with it too and bought one for herself.

The brand specializes in comfortable, practical clothes: basics, clean lines and a comfortable fit for women’s bodies, as she describes it. And from the website, that looks right. Basic in the best possible way. And, of course, pockets in everything.

What you’ll find: more understated colors, larger sizes (38–48), pockets. Ulla’s website.

Kid A

Another brand the women in my family like. Everyday clothes with an effortless streetwear feel, for women who want to look great and be really comfortable. That’s how they describe themselves, and it’s a style I like.

The problem: the website opens for orders in occasional drops, for a few days at a time. You can join an updates group on the homepage to hear when the next sale opens.

Something else I like is that the clothes are designed and made in Israel, from cotton. In other words, not synthetic fabrics. They also say that all their items are made in Israel under fair working conditions, with production processes that take the environment into account.

So yes, it’s expensive. But if you can afford it, I have a soft spot for sustainability and making things in Israel.

What you’ll find: streetwear, sizes 36–48, pockets. Kid A’s website.

Cotton (כותון)

If very colorful clothes aren’t your thing, Cotton is an Israeli brand that’s been around since 1992 (!). It makes clothes in a broad range of sizes, with loose, comfortable cuts and calmer colors that are easier to wear. And here too, the dresses, skirts and trousers have pockets.

The fabrics include cotton, linen and viscose, which work well for the Israeli summer. According to their website, they use ethical production and take a slow fashion approach. They also have shops around Israel alongside the website. That’s no small thing in a world of online shopping.

Worth knowing: they have a customer club. It’s worth joining before you buy because the prices are lower.

See Cotton’s dresses.

Karen Shavit (קרן שביט)

An Israeli design brand that Karen Shavit started more than a decade ago. Karen has announced that she is stepping away from the fashion brand and taking a break from events. Clothes are still listed on the website, so check availability. The studio is in the Jezreel Valley, but check the website for an announced sale event before visiting. I’m less keen on that when I want to try things on, but they have a straightforward returns page, if online shopping is your thing.

The website explicitly says the clothes always have pockets, and that includes the dresses. There are a few regular dress styles: Alma, Laura, Galabia and Paloma. There are also trousers, jumpsuits and jeans. The prices are boutique-level, but there are frequent sales. Home delivery is free on purchases over ₪400.

Fast fashion from abroad

Fast fashion isn’t great. I mean, it’s relatively cheap, and that’s its strength. But it’s very, very polluting, both in how it’s made and in the huge quantities produced and then thrown away. Still, it’s popular, and it’s most of what’s out there today. So if you’re buying it anyway, these websites offer dresses with pockets, and they’re real websites rather than scams.

ModCloth, Collectif

Two websites with a very similar feel: bold retro styles, somewhere between vintage and romantic, with colors, prints and a certain classic look that nerds like me struggle to resist. And larger sizes. And pockets.

I haven’t ordered from Retro; the last time I ordered from ModCloth was in 2021. I still have the knee-length skirt with pockets that I bought, and this jumpsuit with really deep pockets. Men’s-clothing deep!

Cider

Not all the dresses have pockets, but there’s a “dresses with pockets” category on the website. The product descriptions also say whether a dress has pockets.

They have a dresses-with-pockets category too. Type “Dress with pockets” into the search bar to find it.

Dolly and Dotty

A British website that ships to Israel. Cool, fun prints (there’s no other word for it) and pin-up cuts. I don’t know a woman who hasn’t dreamed of having the personality or the nerve to wear them. They have plain dresses, checked dresses and just about any print you can imagine: cats, dogs, dinosaurs, books, mushrooms and more. And yes, they have a whole category of dresses with pockets too.

Visit the website.

And here are my friends and me wearing their dresses:

If you have a BUYME gift card: as of 19 October 2026, I haven’t found official confirmation that any of the shops on this list accept it. Before buying, check with the shop and read your gift card’s terms. I’ve also written a guide to making the most of your BUYME gift card.

And if you’re shopping online, I’ve written about how cashback works too.
